Serving authentic Korean dishes

The taste of home and the warmth of Jongga culture with everyone

About HWANG BOOJA

Growing up in the Jongga of the Changwon Hwang family, I was surrounded by the rich traditions and deep-rooted flavors of Korean cuisine. In Korean culture, Jongga refers to the head family's household in a clan, responsible for preserving and passing down the family's customs, values, and especially its recipes. Our family kitchen was always a place of warmth, where these recipes were handed down through generations and meals were prepared with love and care. As a young girl, I watched my mother and grandmother work their magic in the kitchen, crafting dishes that not only filled our stomachs but also our hearts. Now, living in the U.S., I’ve brought that piece of my Jongga heritage to life through my restaurant. Here, I showcase the authentic flavors of Korean food, just like the ones I grew up eating. It’s been heartwarming to hear my customers say that our dishes remind them of the comforting, homemade meals their mothers used to make. To me, that’s the greatest compliment. This journey is more than just running a restaurant; it’s about sharing the taste of home and the warmth of Jongga culture with everyone who walks through our doors. Every dish we serve is a tribute to the family traditions that shaped who I am and the love that goes into a truly hearty Korean meal.
